The Effect of E-Learning Use on Student Learning Outcomes

Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly transformed the field of education, particularly through the utilization of e-learning as a primary medium for online learning. This study aims to analyze the influence of e-learning usage on student learning outcomes in higher education. A quantitative approach with a correlational survey method was employed, involving 33 student respondents. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability, yielding a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.960. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results show that e-learning usage has a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.896 and a significance value of p < 0.001. These findings indicate that e-learning is an effective learning medium to improve academic achievement among students, although challenges such as access limitations, digital literacy gaps, and low independent learning motivation still persist. Therefore, the development of adaptive and inclusive online learning strategies supported by adequate technological infrastructure is highly recommended.
